We are recruiting aSenior Underground Works Technician / Tunnel Technician for one of our key clients, a well-established company in the Lugano area.

DUTIES • Detailed analysis of tender documentation (specifications, drawings, bill of quantities, schedules) and technical-economic evaluation of projects
• Collaboration in defining the bid strategy, contributing to the development of competitive technical and economic solutions
• Preparation of estimates regarding costs, timelines, and resource requirements
• Verification of the technical feasibility of projects and identification of critical issues, risks, and opportunities, proposing alternative solutions (value engineering)
• Preparation of technical documentation, reports, and drawings to support bids
• Coordination with external consultants, suppliers, and specialists to gather technical information
• Highlighting and integration of tunneling project references into bid proposals
• Participation, during the execution phase, in the operational planning of construction site activities
• Support for the technical management of the project and verification of the implementation of solutions developed during the bidding phase
• Technical supervision and management of project documentation
• Technical liaison between the contractor, project management, and the client
• Direct involvement in construction site activities, ensuring continuity between the bidding phase and execution

YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

• Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related fields
• Practical and recent experience on underground excavation sites (traditional method and/or TBM) in a direct operational role
• Experience working for a general contractor and participation in complex infrastructure projects
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a technical office handling tenders and/or the operational management of underground projects
• Excellent ability to read and analyze technical tender documentation (specifications, bill of quantities, drawings, and site plans)
• Skills in drafting and managing technical documentation (bids, reports, schedules)
• Strong operational focus and recent on-site experience (candidates with exclusively design experience will not be considered)
• Willingness to relocate and travel within Switzerland as required by project needs
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with a high degree of autonomy and an aptitude for teamwork
• Excellent knowledge of Italian
• Knowledge of German is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of French is an additional plus
